Nicholls Welcome Back Day
Nicholls Welcome Back Day is held every August in Nicholls State University’s quadrangle in order to welcome students back to campus for the new year. The event features booths from student organizations, academic departments, local organizations, and local businesses. Each booth has something to offer students and our library system is no exception. A few Lafourche Parish Library employees get together to bring the public library to Nicholls students. We give students an opportunity to sign up for a library card and receive library swag. Again this year due to a generous donation from the Thibodaux Friends of the Library we were able to offer a 4GB jump drive to all students who signed up for a library card. The students were very grateful for their useful academic tool and wanted to thank the Friends of the Library for their donation. We hope to continue and expand this outreach in the future.

Summer Reading 2024
Over the summer months, Lafourche Parish Library hosts a Summer Experience designed to engage library lovers of all ages in reading and programming that both educate and entertain. This year the Thibodaux Friends of the Library helped us to serve over 440 participating patrons with over 1,100 milestone rewards redeemed; many of which were purchased by the Friends! Some of the Friends of the Library money also went to purchase craft and program supplies as well as end of the summer
The Thibodaux branch would like to extend a huge thank you to the Friends for helping to make our Summer Experience a success!
