About Us
"It's not just a library, it's a community."
The Thibodaux Library is fortunate to have the support of the Friends of Thibodaux Library. This dedicated group promotes community use of the library and encourages gifts and donations to fund projects and activities throughout the year. The Friends are an important part of our library family and we are grateful for their ongoing support.

The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go.
- Dr. Seuss
Our Mission
The mission of Friends of the Library (FOTL) is to maintain an association of persons interested in libraries, to focus public attention on the library, to stimulate the use of the library's resources and services, to receive and encourage gifts, endowments, and bequests to the library, to support and cooperate with the library in developing library services and facilities for the community, and to engage in other lawful activity in furtherance of these aims.

Our Why
The work of the Friends consistently highlights the fact that our library system is the cornerstone of the community, providing opportunities for all to engage in the joy of life-long learning and connecting with the thoughts and ideas of others from ages past to present to future.
