Dear Friends of the Library (FOTL) Members,
First, let me thank all the members of the FOTL Board for their support at the April Librarians’ Appreciation Day Luncheon. We are so privileged to have such a great staff working at the Thibodaux Branch of the library. I think a good time was had by both the staff and members of the board.

New Additions:
The FOTL added a new board member to its team at the April 3rd meeting. I am pleased to introduce you to Ms. Jodi Duet. Ms. Jodi Duet is the Interim Associate Vice Chancellor for Academics and Director of Library and Academic Support at Fletcher Technical Community College. Jodi has been with Fletcher for 15 years. Before moving to the area, she worked at the Livingston Parish Public Library from 2005-2008. Jodi currently serves as the secretary on the Executive Board for “LOUIS: the Louisiana Library Network”- a consortium of public and private college and university libraries in Louisiana. Jodi is married and has a 10-year-old son. She believes that libraries are vital to communities and is looking forward to serving on the board.

The annual FOTL officers were elected at the April 3rd meeting.
The officers for the 2023-2024 year are:

At the April meeting the FOTL approved two items to support the library. A $1,000 allotment was approved to support the purchase of prizes for the children’s summer experience. Additionally, funds were approved to support two Storytime events to be held on June 10th, 2023 and July 8th, 2023. The characters coming to story time will be announced on the library’s website.
Kudos to Ms. Laura Sanders, Lafourche Parish Public Library Director for being elected to the Thibodaux Chamber of Commerce Board! In 2020, Ms. Sanders was named the Louisiana Public Library Director of the Year. We are excited to see her in this additional leadership role!
